sURLz was created in October 2009 as a place for people to shorten URLs for free. It is currently using sURLz Engine 4.0, and new upgrades are added to the software all the time, which means that sURLz is constantly improved and kept up to date.

sURLz only uses in-house coded software to run our site, reducing the possibility of hijacking and database hacks, and enabling us to customize and upgrade the software in every possible way. We hope you enjoy using sURLz!

A Short History

sURLz was created in October 2009. Back then it was little more than a page with a form to shorten URLs. In November 2009, version 2.0 was created which allowed for a quick URL along with the ability to embed sURLz into your site. Version 3.0, created in March 2010, added the ability to add passwords onto your URLs, mask the address, and had a whole new layout, along with more linear coding to allow for easy changes to the site. It was then upgraded in April 2010 to allow for registrations and URL Tracking. sURLz will constantly be evolving and changing to make sure it is always up-to-date.
